DHYG 238S Local Anesth/Pain Control
This course is designed to instruct students in the art and science of local anesthesia. The course encompasses pre-anesthetic evaluation of the patient, the dental assessment and management of the medically compromised patient, physiology and pharmacology of local anesthetics and the management of medical emergencies. Prerequisites: SBIOL 212S, BIOL 222S, DHYG 214S and successful completion of all first year Dental Hygiene courses. Course requirement: Approval by Dental Hygiene Program Director. (4-4-1)
